Found nowhere else, CGR has updated its list of the top private employers in NYS for 2013. Topping the list is North Shore LIJ with nearly 40,000 full time equivalent employees in 2013. Institutions in the health care field and major universities with a medical research focus dominate the list. A majority of the firms are located downstate.
